Introduction
What is Minecraft?
Minecraft is a sandbox video game created by Swedish developer Markus Persson, released by Mojang in 2011 and purchased by Microsoft in 2014. It is the single best-selling video game of all time, selling over 180 million copies across all platforms by late 2019, with over 112 million monthly active players.
In Minecraft, players explore a blocky, pixelated, procedurally-generated 3D world, and may discover and extract raw materials, craft tools, build structures, and, depending on game mode, can fight computer-controlled foes, as well as either cooperate with or compete against other players in the same world. These modes include a survival mode, in which players must acquire resources to build the world and maintain health, and a creative mode, where players have unlimited resources. In the Java Edition, players can modify the game with mods to create new gameplay mechanics, items, textures and assets.
Game Modes
Game Modes provide players with the option to play Minecraft in different ways with different mechanics available in each game mode.
Creative Mode
A mode where you have indefinite supplies, can destroy any block and monsters always act passive.
Survival Mode
A mode where you battle hostile monsters, sustenance becomes important, and players extract raw materials from the land.
Hardcore Mode
In hardcore mode, the player only has one life to lose, and monsters generate with special capabilities.

Biomes
Plains
The plains biome was the first released biome in Minecraft and covered the entire land. It consisted of mainly grass and dirt. Trees were added later in the game, then the release of ore blocks. Villages will also spawn here. Plains are the most basic of all lands, and the easiest to obtain food due to grass (seeds) and the spawning of farm animals, which are more abundant than in other biomes.
Forest
A biome featuring oak and birch trees, where oak is the most common. The forest biome contains cows, pig, sheep and rabbits.
Swamp
Swamp biomes feature shallow bodies of discolored water and discolored grass, with oak trees covered in vines.
Jungle
The jungle biome is the only biome with huge trees with vines. The trees grow cocoa pods on their sides. Ocelots live here. Structures can include jungle temples.
Taiga
The taiga is a biome with densely-filled spruce trees and dull green grass.
Desert
Comprised largely of sand. Rabbits can be found here. Structures include desert temples and wells.
Savanna
This biome features dull, dry grass, and acacia trees.
Ocean
Consisting primarily of water, this biome includes coral, sea grass and kelp. The ocean floor is usually made up of sand or gravel. Structures found in the ocean biome include ocean monuments, sunken ships, and assorted underwater ruins.
Roofed Forest
A Roofed Forests is the only biome with a extremly thick canopy that blocks
out almost all sunlight, also it is the only other biome besides the Mushroom biome that has giant mushrooms. Because of a Roofed Forest's thick canopy blocks out most of the sunlight, monsters are able to generate in the dark shade of the trees. Structures found in the Roofed Forest include woodland mansions which contain dangerous monsters called Illagers.

Weapons
Weapons are items used to kill mobs faster which can be found as loot or created through crafting. When a player left-clicks a mob no more than 3 blocks away, they will deal a level of damage based on what they are holding. There are currently only four items in Minecraft which are considered as proper weapons: swords, tridents, bows, and crossbows. Axes can also be wielded as weapons (as can some other tools), but they are more considered as tools, and therefore they have detrimental side-effects when used as weapons. Also, some potions can be used as weapons.
